Privacy Policy

Corsair War ("Corsair War", "the game", "we", "us" or "our") is operated by Popworks ("Popworks"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the game collects when you play, how we use it, and the choices you have. By playing Corsair War you agree to the collection and use of information in line with this policy.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive your email address (or Apple's private relay address), your display name if the sign-in gives one, and a unique account identifier. If you play as a guest we create an anonymous account with only an identifier. This is stored against your account on our servers.

Your game. Your captain name, level, coins, diamonds, ships and their upgrades, blueprints and items, stage progress, battle results, trading and expedition voyages, gifts and daily check-ins, and the settings you choose (language, sound) are stored on our servers, so your game follows you to a new phone and so the game can check that every action follows its rules.

Leaderboard. Your captain name, level, furthest stage and number of wins are shown to other players on the leaderboard. Please do not use your real name or other personal information as your captain name.

Purchases. Coins, diamonds and packages are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. We receive a receipt (a transaction identifier or purchase token), which our server checks with Apple or Google before it adds the purchase to your game, and we keep a record of it so it is never added twice.

Advertising. The game offers an optional rewarded video ad (for example, to earn free coins), shown by Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, Google's consent form asks you first. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and other device information to show and measure ads, as described in Google's own privacy policy. You can change your consent or turn off personalised ads in your device settings. The game works without ever watching an ad.

Push and local notifications. If you allow notifications, we store a device push token so we can send you messages (for example, news or gifts). Reminders such as "your energy is full" are scheduled on your device and do not leave it.

Diagnostic and usage data. We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to collect crash reports and basic usage and performance data (such as device model, operating system version, the app version and which screens are used) so we can fix problems and improve the game. Firebase App Check may be used to verify that requests come from a genuine copy of the game.

Contacting us. If you use Contact us in Settings, the form opens in the in-game browser with your player identifier, the game version and your device type filled in, so we can find and help with your problem. What else you write in it is up to you.

How we use your information

• To provide, run and protect the game, including saving your progress and checking that actions follow the rules.
• To process your purchases and to credit what you bought.
• To show the leaderboard and other features that involve other players.
• To send you the notifications you allowed, and in-game news and gifts.
• To find and fix crashes and bugs, understand how the game is used, and improve it.
• To reply when you contact us for support, and to prevent cheating and fraud.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for our own purposes.
• We do not ask for your real name, address or phone number.

Sharing of information

We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

• With service providers who process data on our behalf to run the game: Supabase (database and backend hosting), Google Firebase (sign-in, crash reporting, analytics and push notifications), Google AdMob (rewarded ads), Cloudflare (hosting of game files and our back office), and Apple and Google (sign-in and purchases).
• If required to comply with a legal obligation, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Popworks, our players or the public.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and game data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time inside the game (Settings → tap your captain → Delete account). Deleting your account removes your game and the information attached to it. We keep a limited record of deleted accounts and of purchases (such as the account identifier, transaction identifiers and dates) as needed for fraud prevention, legal compliance and dispute resolution. Data kept by Apple, Google and our other providers is handled under their own policies.

Children's privacy

Corsair War is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

International data transfers

Popworks is based in Hong Kong, but the services we use (Supabase, Google, Cloudflare and others) may store and process data in other countries or regions. By playing, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in places whose data protection laws differ from those of your home country.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, including Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO), you may have the right to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You can do most of this in the game, or by contacting us at the email address below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the revised policy.
